Dewsbury Rams mascot Roger the Ram visited Orchard Primary school, schools fete on Wednesday afternoon. Pupils from the school and people from the local community had the chance to meet Roger and have their picture taken with him. On Roger being at the event and the fete itself, Orchard primary school teacher Rebecca Ada was pleased with how the afternoon went. She also believes it is vital that the Rams and the local community have a close connection. Rams sign Ryder
Dewsbury Rams can announce they have signed highly rated centre Adam Ryder from Keighley Cougars. Ryder who signed for the Cougars in 2017 has now been released from his contract so he can sign for Dewsbury. The powerful and pacey 28 year old has put pen to paper for the rest of this season and the next. The signing has been able to happen due to the funds the ‘All Together 2018’ campaign have raised. Grassroots: Moor qualify for Jim Brown Cup Final
Dewsbury Moor will face Thornhill Trojans in the Jim Brown Heavy Woollen Cup Final following last night’s victory over Batley Boys. Following a closely contested first half against a determined and physical Batley side, Moor eventually ran out 30-10 winners in the Semi-Final tie. Batley had secured a surprise win over Shaw Cross Sharks in the previous round and are enjoying an outstanding season in the Yorkshire Men’s League Premier Division. Dewsbury Rams are looking for people to apply for the recent cook position that has opened up at the club. The role will involve cooking on match days, and for functions throughout the week and at weekends, these functions take place at unsociable hours, The role requires an experienced person who also has a health and hygiene qualification, and has worked in a similar position previously. Cosmic Toys have won business family prize ticket
Dewsbury Rams are running an initiative where businesses that put up posters to advertise Rams home fixtures will be placed in a prize draw. The fourth winner of the family match ticket prize is Cosmic Toys in the Kingsway Arcade Dewsbury. Businesses are backing the Rams by displaying a poster advertising the Rams home games. Thornhill Trojans will face Shaw Cross Sharks in National Conference League Division One’s local derby on Saturday. Both sides head into the match on the back of victories. The Sharks beat Milford Marlins last weekend, while Thornhill were winners away at Dudley Hill. But it is the Trojans who head into the game in stronger form. A win for the home side would provide a further boost to their promotion hopes, while Shaw Cross can breathe further life into their hopes of avoiding the drop if they can spring an upset.
