Join us every Sunday for one of the area’s most popular car boot sales! Whether you are looking to declutter and make some extra cash, or you are hunting for your next great bargain, our gates are open to everyone. No need to book—just turn up on the day!

Seller Information

There is no need to book your pitch in advance—simply arrive on the morning to secure your spot.

  • Cars: £14

  • Vans: £20

  • Trailers: Additional £2

Facilities

We want to make your morning as comfortable and convenient as possible. On-site, you will find:

  1. Plenty of dedicated parking for both buyers and sellers

  2. Hot food and refreshment facilities

  3. On-site toilets

A Polite Notice to Our Visitors: We kindly ask all buyers to respect our local neighbours. Please make use of the ample parking provided within our grounds and refrain from parking on the nearby residential estates.

 

General Rules & Guidelines for Sellers

To ensure a safe, fair, and legally compliant experience for everyone, we ask all sellers to read and abide by the following site rules. Dewsbury Rams Car Boot Sale works closely with Local Authority Trading Standards and West Yorkshire Police, who may visit the site unannounced.

1. Arrival, Setup & Safety

  • Follow Marshal Instructions: Please follow the directions of the site marshals and stewards at all times. They will direct you to your pitch.

  • Pitch Boundaries: Ensure all your tables, clothing rails, and items for sale remain strictly within your allocated pitch. Do not block walkways or vehicle access routes.

  • Speed Limit: A strict 5 mph speed limit applies everywhere on the site. Drive with extreme caution, being mindful of pedestrians and children.

  • Secure Your Stall: Ensure all tables, rails are securely weighed down or pegged, especially on windy days.

  • Liability: All sellers trade at their own risk. Management accepts no responsibility for loss, damage, or theft of stock, vehicles, or personal property.

2. The Law & Trading Standards

If you sell regularly or buy goods specifically to resell, you are legally considered a “Trader” and must comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (goods must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality). Private individuals having a clear-out must also ensure goods are exactly “as described.”

  • Counterfeit Goods: It is a criminal offence under the Trade Marks Act to sell fake or counterfeit goods (e.g., fake designer clothing, bags, perfumes, pirated DVDs/CDs). Trading Standards can and will confiscate these items on the spot.

  • Electrical Items: Under the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, all electricals must be safe. You must not sell items with frayed cables, damaged plugs, or exposed wires. It is highly recommended to clearly label items as “Tested Working” or “Sold as Seen – Untested”.

  • Toys: By law, any toys sold (even second-hand) must carry a CE or UKCA safety mark. They must not represent a choking hazard or be subject to a product recall.

  • Upholstered Furniture: Any upholstered furniture (chairs, sofas, cushions) manufactured after 1950 must have the appropriate fire safety labels attached.

3. Strictly Prohibited Items

Anyone found selling the following illegal or prohibited goods will be asked to leave the site immediately and reported to the relevant authorities.

  • Weapons: Knives, bladed articles, firearms, air rifles, BB guns, crossbows, and replica weapons.

  • Age-Restricted Goods: Tobacco, e-cigarettes/vapes, alcohol, and fireworks.

  • Food & Drink: No selling of hot/cold food, snacks, cakes, or drinks. 

  • Medicines & Cosmetics: No prescription or over-the-counter medicines. Second-hand cosmetics or toiletries cannot be sold.

  • Animals: No livestock or pets of any kind.

  • Stolen Goods: Any suspicion of stolen goods being sold will be reported directly to the police.

4. End of the Day & Waste

  • Take Your Rubbish Home: You must take all your rubbish, empty boxes, and unsold items away with you.

  • Strictly No Fly-Tipping: Leaving unsold items, broken goods, or rubbish on the field or in the site bins is an offence under the Environmental Protection Act. Anyone caught fly-tipping will be permanently banned from the site and reported to the council.

Management reserves the right to refuse entry or ask any seller to leave the site if they fail to comply with these rules.
