SUMMER BASH SPECTATOR GUIDE

Below is information from the RFL for supporters attending this weekend’s Summer Bash at Headingley Stadium.

All persons entering Headingley Stadium are subject to the Headingley Stadium Ground Regulations, must adhere to the match day search policy and understand the prohibited items policy. All information is available here

Travelling to Headingley Stadium

Please ensure however you choose to travel to the stadium you do it safely and where possible sustainably. Turnstiles will open at 11:45am on Saturday 30th and 10:30am on Sunday 31st July. Please allow extra time to arrive early at the stadium and help with the safe entry for all spectators into the ground.

Car Parking

There is no parking for cars at the stadium or in the surrounding residential areas. Car Park K is available for spectators to park for free on a first come, first served basis on both event days and is a short walk from Headingley Stadium (situated off Stanmore Terrace – LS4 2SB). Cars cannot be left overnight and must be removed half an hour after the final whistle of the final game on each event day.

Please ensure you do not park on coned roads, residential parking zones or on double yellow lines. Parking wardens patrol the stadium on both match days.

Coach Parking

We recommend you make us aware of all coaches travelling to the event by providing us with which days and times you are attending. Please email this information to tickets@therhinos.co.uk and we will supply you with a coach parking map.

Ticket Information

Ticket Availability and How to Buy Online – Tickets can be purchased at Rugby League Tickets up until Friday 29th July 2022. Tickets will be made available for collection from Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office on St Michaels Lane from 10am on Saturday 30th July.

On the turnstiles (subject to availability) – Fans will be able to purchase tickets directly from St Michaels Lane (Gate B) or Kirkstall Lane (Gate G) Turnstiles using contactless payment methods such as credit or debit cards and also smartphones (cash is not accepted as payment on the turnstiles). Tickets purchased on the turnstiles will allow access into either the Global East Stand Terrace or the Western Terrace. 

Turnstiles will open at 11:45am on Saturday 30th July and 10:30am on Sunday 31st July.

Seated Tickets – These will be available (subject to availability) on match day to purchase from Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office on St Michaels Lane only. Only credit/debit card payments are accepted (not cash or smartphones).

Stadium and Ticket Information

Ticket Office Opening Times

Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office on St Michaels Lane is open from 10am on Saturday 30th July and 9am on Sunday 31st July and fans can purchase tickets there. Headingley Stadium is a CASH-LESS venue and any purchases within the ground must be paid for by credit/debit card or smartphone device.

Turnstiles Opening Times

Turnstiles will open at 11:45am on Saturday 30th July and 10:30am on Sunday 31st July.

Entering the Stadium

Please enter the stadium via the turnstile indicated on your ticket.

– Gate B is located on St Michaels Lane and provides the best access to Global East Stand Terrace, Global East Stand Seating and also North Stand blocks E to H.

– Gate G is located on Kirkstall Lane and provides the best access to North Stand blocks A to D and Western Terrace.

Reserved Seating

If your ticket is in the North Stand, please be aware that this is reserved seating. Spectators in reserved seating must ensure they sit in their allocated seat(s). Although there may be adjacent seats that appear to be empty, it is likely that the ticket holder hasn’t yet arrived or is elsewhere in the stadium.

Identification for Concessions

If you have purchased a concessionary ticket (NHS Staff, Over 65, Serving Military, Student, Under 16) identification may be requested on entry, holders of such tickets should ensure they have appropriate ID with them.

Pass Out System

A pass out system will be in place at Gate C, to leave and re-enter you must receive a handstamp when leaving. Upon re-entry you must show both your exit handstamp and your ticket.

Headingley Stadium is Cashless

Please be aware that Headingley Stadium is a cash-less venue and any purchases within the ground must be paid for by credit/debit card or smartphone device.

Bag Policy

SIZE OF BAGS

  • Bags cannot be larger than an A4 piece of paper.
  • If supporters bring rucksacks or backpacks which are bigger than an A4 piece of paper, they will be searched and tagged. If they are deemed to be too large, they will be searched, tagged and taken to a secure area for the duration of the event and are to be collected on departure from the stadium. If a bag is seen inside the ground without a tag it will be necessary for it to be searched and left in a secure area for collection on departure from the stadium.

Bag Search Procedures

  • Searching of bags will only be conducted by appropriately qualified SIA-badged personnel.
  • No bags held by under 16s will be searched without the prior approval of the person’s parent or carer.
  • Search personnel will not put their hands into the bags. They should look inside the bag and request the spectator to take out any items of concern. (This measure is also to protect staff, so they do not injure themselves on sharp objects in the bag.)
  • Bags will be retained at Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office for the duration of the event or until collected by the spectators on departure from the stadium.

Food and drink

Food and beverage concessions will be open throughout the full stadium and alcohol will be allowed to be consumed in stadium seats. You will not be able to bring large amounts of your own food and drink into the ground. Small amounts of food can be brought into the stadium in a clear bag along with a small, sealed soft drink (no larger than 500ml), small flask of tea or coffee or a sealed soft drinks container. All of which could be subject to a sip test. Alcohol and large, packed lunches will not be allowed to be brought into the stadium.

Disabled/Accessible Facilities

Changing Places

Leeds Rhinos have Changing Places facilities; one in the South Stand and one in the North Stand. The Changing Places facility is designed to provide the space and equipment, enabling those who need them to enjoy matches at the stadium safely and comfortably. Click herenow to find out more details.

Wheelchair Access

Please note each wheelchair user bay also has a companion seat. In the North Stand the companion seat is next to the bay and in the Global Stand the companion seat is behind the bay.

We have seating available throughout the stadium and to discuss any requirements you may have, please call our Customer Service Team on 0330 111 1113 – please ensure you are clear with your requirements so we can ensure we are offering the most suitable position.

Matchday Access

You can access via accessible gates at St Michaels Lane (Gate B) and Kirkstall Lane (Gate G) turnstiles.

Access for wheelchair users and ambulant spectators who are situated in the Global Stand, it is recommended you enter the stadium via Gate B on St Michaels Lane.

For wheelchair users and ambulant spectators situated in the North Stand 3rd Floor wheelchair user area or in the North Stand seats requiring lift access, it is recommended you enter the stadium via Gate G at Kirkstall Lane Turnstiles as the public use lift is situated towards the Western Terrace end of the North Stand. This will allow access to the first-floor concourse for the seats, bars and toilets and the third floor. If you are situated in these areas and require lift access and you access the stadium via Gate B on St Michaels Lane, you will be required to come under the North Stand on the ground floor to access the other side of the stadium. Wheelchair users on the 3rd floor of the North Stand will be required to use bar facilities on the 1st floor.

There are North Stand and Global East Stand lifts which are prioritised for wheelchair users and ambulant spectators. Fans who have limited mobility can also use the public lifts in the North Stand (Western Terrace side) and Global East Stand.

Audio Headsets

We offer an audio descriptive commentary service at all our events for Rugby League fans who have visual impairments. To book this service, please email ticketing@rfl.co.uk with your Full Name, Contact Number and Booking Reference.

You will be able to collect the audio descriptive commentary equipment from the ticket office at the venue on the day of the event and return it to the same ticket office, post event. A small, refundable deposit of £10 will be payable upon collection and will be returned to you upon safe return of the equipment.

Wi-Fi

Super-fast free Wi-Fi is available for all fans on match day! Just join the Rhinos-FREE network to get started.

Smoking

Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes will be allowed in designated smoking areas only which are at Gate B, Gate D and Gate G.

Retail Opening Times – new England RLWC kit available to buy

The Leeds Rhinos Retail Store will be open throughout both match days. Fans will be able to buy the new England RLWC kit, as well as Leeds Rhinos and NRL Merchandise. Headingley Stadium is a CASH-LESS venue and any purchases within the ground must be paid for by credit/debit card or smartphone device.

Pyrotechnics & Special Effects

During match day or event day entertainment (pre, half time and post-match) there may be use of pyrotechnics, flashing floodlights, special effects and flash photography used.

Flags and drums

All flags entering Headingley Stadium are not permitted with flag poles and must be accompanied by a valid fire certificate. Please be aware that flags can only be draped over barriers and not fixed to structures. If they cause issue with other supporters, they may ask to be removed from the area.

If you are bringing a drum / musical instrument to Summer Bash, you must notify the venue in advance by emailing tickets@therhinos.co.uk.

Fans Phone

The Fans Phone allows you to report any issues anonymously and to ensure our fans don’t feel in danger by visibly reporting issues to stewards. Should you need to report anything on the day, please use our fans text line number on 07500 312 832 (texts are charged at standard network rate). Please provide as much detail as possible about the problem and your location to allow our stewards to monitor the situation and act where necessary.

Respect Headingley

Please remember, Headingley Stadium is situated in a residential area and we ask that you ensure you respect the neighbouring area when arriving and departing the stadium for matches.

Please ensure if you are parking your vehicle in the surrounding streets that you do it sensibly, you dispose of any waste responsibly, and finally, remain on public highways and keep noise levels to a minimum.
