CARR CONFIRMED FOR 2022

DEWSBURY Rams can confirm that Lewis Carr has chosen to extend his contract with the club for 2022.

The exciting young winger joined Lee Greenwood’s Rams from Castleford Tigers ahead of the 2021 season, having come through the ranks at the Super League club.

He is currently the third player to confirm he will pull on a Rams jersey next year with both Andy Gabriel and Reiss Butterworth having already committed for the season ahead.

Commenting on the contract extension Carr said: “I am extremely pleased to have signed a new deal with the Rams. I feel like Lee Greenwood has helped my confidence massively and he’s got me back to being myself on the pitch again.

“I feel as though next year he will help me to improve even further and I am excited to see what the season has to hold, after digging in to a good pre-season with the boys.

“There was no doubt in my mind about signing anywhere else, I love the club and this is where I want to be, we have got a good group of lads here with great togetherness and I also have a good bonds with the coaches.

“The supporters were also a big factor in me choosing to re-sign with Dewsbury. The Rams Family have truly helped me settle and have been very supportive of me.

“Next year I will be hoping to have a strong pre-season so that I can perform at my best for 2022. I feel as though I have found my feet, so I will be doing everything in my power to try and push for a starting shirt and hopefully have a positive year.”

And Lee Greenwood had nothing but praise for the young prospect who is a former stalwart of the amateur rugby league side Normanton Knights.

The Rams boss added: “Lewis has shown real potential in the games that he has played this season.

“He impressed during pre-season and did enough to start in our first game of the year.

“As with all young players, there are inconsistencies, but Lewis has worked hard on his understanding and game awareness.

“He is a funny character and popular with everyone at the club and we are really happy he is staying with us next season.”
