Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood got his first taste of action on the touchline when his side were defeated in the Boxing Day fixture to Batley. The Rams were narrowly defeated 16-10 at Mount Pleasant where the Bulldogs won the Roy Powell trophy. A new head coach and a new look team put in a spirited display particularly in the second half. Dewsbury Rams arrived at Mount Pleasant for their first game under new Head Coach Lee Greenwood. The traditional Boxing Day match would also see a new look Rams side after many new signings over the close season. Playing down the slope the first half Dewsbury faced a difficult first 10 minutes after having to use two interchanges due to head injuries. Dewsbury Rams centre Adam Ryder is ready to face rivals Batley Bulldogs on Boxing Day. The Rams take on their closest neighbours on Boxing Day at 12pm at Batley. On the upcoming game Ryder said: “I can’t wait to start playing now. 1895 Cup dates announced
Dewsbury Rams will take part in the inaugural competition in 2019, and the RFL has released a statement confirming the dates of the competition. The RFL statement read: “The 20 clubs who will contest the inaugural 1895 Cup can now be confirmed. The brand new competition provides another opportunity for their players and supporters to earn a trip to Wembley Stadium in 2019. Coventry Bears, London Skolars and North Wales Crusaders have opted not to enter for logistical reasons, meaning eight clubs from Betfred League 1 will play a straight knockout in the First Round on May 5-6 – before the […]
Tom Garratt Becomes a Ram
Dewsbury Rams have signed Tom Garratt for the 2019 season, the prop forward has signed on the dotted line and is the latest winter signing. The 24 year old had spent some time in Super League club Huddersfield Giants academy, and since then has played the majority of his career within the amateur game, particularly boyhood club Siddal. Even though Garratt admits himself moving to the Rams wasn’t in his plans, he is delighted to have signed for the club.
