Nelmes leaves for Oldham
The club can confirm that Luke Nelmes has left the Rams to join Oldham for the 2021 season. We’d like to place on record our thanks for his hard work in the community over the last year in the Rampage Club. The Rams wish Luke all the best of luck for the future.

Jenson Okhovat RIP
Dewsbury Rams is sad to hear of the passing of Jenson Okhovat. Jenson was 28 years old when he passed away and all our sympathies are with his family and friends. Jenson won the Reserve League in 2015 with the Rams under the stewardship of coach Jonathan Schofield. On the passing of Jenson, Schofield said: “I was really shocked when I received the news about Jenson, Jenson played a big part in the reserve grand final squad and he played a massive part in the final coming off the bench. “I always said he gave us the lift to lead us […]

Rams enter Autumn Cup
Dewsbury Rams can today confirm that the club has decided to submit an entry for the RFL’s Autumn invitational cup. The decision was made following the Rams being able to secure testing for relevant staff and players. The Rams are in the process of agreeing a relevant capacity under the current circumstances. There would need to be an inspection by Kirklees of whatever arrangements are put in place regarding social distancing, entrances and exits to the stadium, bars, toilet etc and there would need to be a “Covid 19 Plan” in place. The final capacity would not be agreed until […]

David Hyomes’ Jersey Talk: #8 – prop forward
Last time out, we discussed the number seven shirt and acknowledged that the shirt was generally worn by the most diminutive but crafty player in the team. This week features number eight – usually the physically biggest player in the team. Open side prop forwards are the enforcers who give the smaller playmakers the platform to ply their trade. Big men who are often the heroes of their own fans but are classified as ‘dirty so-and-sos’ by opposition supporters! When talking about players who have worn number eight at Dewsbury, it seems that everyone remembers Harry Beverley, and by everyone […]

David Hyomes’ Jersey Talk: #7 – scrum-half
The guys wearing the number 7 shirt have always been my favourites – they have always defied the logic that Rugby League is a game for power-packed physical supermen! The shirt is usually worn by the smallest player in the team, but invariably the bravest and cockiest! They are the brains of the team and are the most skilled at kicking the ball in open play. As with everything else in life, you never forget the first and my young days at Crown Flatt saw Alvyn Newall emerge as an early boyhood hero. Newall was an elusive runner and skilled […]
