David Hyomes’ Jersey Talk: #6 – stand-off
When I first started thinking about custodians of the Dewsbury number six shirt I immediately thought of a father and son duo who played a major part in two of our greatest periods. Alan Agar and Richard Agar left an indelible mark on the history of our club. Alan wore the shirt on what many would say was our greatest day – the 1973 Championship final victory over Leeds at Odsal. He made 153 appearances in Red, Amber and Black, scoring 34 tries, 39 goals plus one drop-goal. Alan also wore the shirt in our 1972 Yorkshire Cup Final defeat […]

The 2019 Financial Statements which […]

David Hyomes’ Jersey Talk: #5 – winger
And so we get to the number five shirt – left wing. As I said last week, this trawl through our iconic jersey wearers – from full-back to left wing – has really highlighted to me the versatility of the many much-loved characters who have graced the last line of defence and our threequarters. I am going to start this week with a truly iconic star of our sport who, despite only making 40 appearances for Dewsbury, is synonymous with our town – Mick Sullivan. Where do I start? Mick was capped 46 times by Great Britain – an all-time […]

Head coach Lee Greenwood signs new two-year contract
Dewsbury Rams today announces a new two-year contract for head coach Lee Greenwood, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2022 season. The news was revealed exclusively to season ticket holders last week. Greenwood arrived at The Tetley’s Stadium at the start of the 2019 season and quickly built a squad from the bare bones, before guiding the club to Championship safety that year. He was instrumental in the recruitment of players such as Joe Martin, Frazer Morris, Andy Gabriel and Tom Garratt, as the team pulled off the wins needed for survival, including the stellar victories […]
