Roger the Ram runs in “Run for Jo” event
Dewsbury Rams mascot Roger the Ram took part in this years mascot race at the Run For Jo event on Sunday the 24th June. The event took place once again at Oakwell Hall, and is run in memory of the MP Jo Cox. The race is part of a series of events that take place around the local area and it is aimed at bringing the community together. Dewsbury Rams is looking for a professional and dedicated experienced sports photographer to work on both match days and at various events when called upon. The role will be voluntary, however the photographs taken will be used across the Rams official media platforms and credit will be given. You will gain access to both Rams home and away games. Grassroots: Trojans A and Moor A qualify for John Kane Cup final
Thornhill Trojans A will meet Dewsbury Moor A in the John Kane Cup Final. Thornhill qualified for the Final with victory away at Batley Boys DMR yesterday evening. Following a closely-contested first half, the Trojans emerged 34-10 winners. Try scorers for Thornhill were Johnny Mack, who grabbed a brace, Jake Hickling, Nick Sharp, Josh Clough and Declan Tomlinson. Tomlinson kicked four goals and Mack kicked one. Grassroots: Sharks recruiting for under-15s team
Shaw Cross Sharks are on the look-out for new players for their under-15s team. The successful team is unbeaten in the league so far this season and provides a welcoming set-up for any young players who are looking for a new challenge or taking up the game for the first time. All players currently in school year 10 are invited to come to training, which takes place between 6.00pm and 7.30pm every Tuesday and Thursday on Bywell playing fields. Kelly reflects on Leigh defeat
Dewsbury Rams head coach Neil Kelly reflected on the 58-12 defeat to Leigh Centurions last weekend. He said: “I questioned the players desire to be professional rugby players or to be involved with sport. I thought from our point of view, we made Leigh only score really one good try. I thought the rest were avoidable and they were gifts, and you can’t give a side like Leigh gifts. “A score of 58-12 doesn’t signify strong defence. I think sometimes we go from one extreme to the other within seconds. We are controlling the play making two or three good […]
Grassroots: Moor coach Delaney set for playing return
Dewsbury Moor head coach James Delaney is expected to make his playing return within the next couple of weeks. Delaney has been sidelined with an ACL injury that has kept him out of action for the season so far. But the former Dewsbury Rams player recently received medical clearance to return to the field. Moor have enjoyed a strong campaign in National Conference League Division Two so far this year and trail league leaders Stanningley by just two points. And Delaney’s return will provide a welcome boost ahead of the latter stages of the campaign. Moor have no league game […]
