Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood reflected on his sides 34-0 defeat against York City Knights on Saturday night. On the loss, Greenwood said: “You are never happy when you lose and you are never happy losing to nil either, because it means your attack wasn’t very good and then you don’t like conceding 34 points because it means your defence wasn’t very good. It was a defeat for the Rams in their final Yorkshire Cup tie on Saturday evening, Lee Greenwood’s men headed to Bootham Crescent in good spirits. However the Rams found it tough going against a strong York side. It was the home side who dominated much of the match, with former Dewsbury player Jack Teanby causing the visitors problems early on. Dewsbury Rams are delighted to announce that the popular mascot scheme that the club ran last season will continue in 2019. Mascots featured on the club’s social media accounts and website plus match day programme, all this is set to continue. The mascots were also taken on a tour of the ground and taken in to the club shop where they could purchase items of their choice. Challenge Cup to be sponsored by Coral
The Rugby Football League have agreed an historic commercial partnership with Coral to include both the men’s and women’s Challenge Cups in a two-year, seven-figure deal. The two competitions will come together when the Coral Women’s Challenge Cup Final shares the stage with the men’s semi finals in a triple header at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday July 27. The men’s Coral Challenge Cup Final will be held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 24. “This is a really significant day both for the Challenge Cup, and for women’s Rugby League,” said Ralph Rimmer, the RFL chief executive.
