Summer Camp Success
Dewsbury Rams hosted a summer camp between the 14th and 16th August where kids came to the stadium to take part in the camp and had a look around the stadium. The children also met Rams mascot Roger the Ram and Dewsbury player Lucas Walshaw. The three days were run by Pulse HFW Schools and the camp was a real success. It is once again that time of the week where we preview our grassroots sides fixtures. Kingstone Press national conference league Division 1 Thornhill Trojans have gone top of Division 1 with a comfortable win over Milford Marlins last time out, winning 28-2 on the day. The Trojans have played 18 games this season winning 15 of them, losing 2 and drawing 1. Grassroots: Moor player braves the shave for charity
A Dewsbury Moor player is raising money for a charity that provided support to his family during a tough period. Moor’s Dom Horn will have his head shaved for the team’s final home game of the season on Saturday 8th September and is asking for sponsorship. He’s raising money for Candlelighters, a charity that supports families facing children’s cancer in Yorkshire. Dom explains: “I’m doing the heads have for my sister, Cassie. She died when she was six-years-old from a rare condition called medulloblastoma, which is a brain tumour. “Candlelighters made it possible for my mum and dad to bring Cassie […]
Kelly wants to see clinical edge at Batley
Head Coach Neil Kelly spoke to the media following the Rams 40-7 victory over Swinton Lions last Sunday. Kelly was delighted with the victory and whilst he reflected heavily on the win, his attention now turns to the game coming up this weekend away at Batley. Dewsbury Moor’s A team will aim to secure part one of a possible Cup double when they meet Featherstone Lions in the Yorkshire Alliance League Two play-off final on Saturday. Moor finished runners-up behind the Lions in the division during the regular season. They beat third place Stanningley to book their place in the play-off final, while Featherstone were winners against Underbank Rangers.
