Dewsbury Rams got off the mark in the Betfred Championship this weekend with a win over the Swinton Lions. After a defeat against York in their first game, Lee Greenwood’s men were eager to get right back at it and get the first win of the season under their belts. Dewsbury Rams were victorious against Swinton Lions on Sunday. Tries from Harrison Ward Worrincy Garratt x2 Sykes Paul Sykes converted every kick on the day.
Mascot announced for Swinton fixture.
The mascot that will walk out with her Dewsbury Rams heroes on Sunday is Alyeisha Atkinson. She is ten years of age, and attends the John Curwen Academy. Alyeisha is a third generation Rams supporter, her dad was a ball boy for a number of seasons. Her favorite player is Paul Sykes, but she also sponsors Jobe Sheriffe for his shorts and socks. Alyeisha always believes the Rams will win, and has forecast a Rams win against Swinton. We hope Alyeisha enjoys her day, and gets to see a Rams victory.

Head coach Lee Greenwood provided the media with his thoughts ahead of this weekends game against Swinton. Greenwood will be hoping his side can bounce back after a close defeat to the York City Knights last weekend. The Rams were in a good position at half time however a second half comeback meant the Knights went home the victors. Greenwood is expecting a very different test but a tough one from the Lions. Good Friday game vs Batley kick off time change
Dewsbury Rams can confirm that the kick off time for the Good Friday derby match against Batley Bulldogs 19th April will now be a 7pm kick off instead of a 3pm kick off. We hope to see as many fans down at the Tetley’s stadium on that day as possible, as we take on the Bulldogs in the first derby of the 2019 league campaign.
