Rams sign two new players
Dewsbury Rams can announce that we have signed two new players, and they made their debut on Sunday in the win over Swinton Lions in the 1895 cup. The Rams have signed former Halifax prop Frazer Morris for the rest of the season, the 22 year old prop has fallen down the pecking order at the Shay, and head coach Lee Greenwood sees the potential in Morris and so has brought him in. Dewsbury Rams have made it through to the next round of the 1895 Cup competition and are now only two games away from Wembley after beating Swinton on Sunday. The Rams won 44-26 in the end and scored some superb tries in the process of the afternoon. Dewsbury started the game the better and were ahead after the 3rd minute when Lucas Walsahw smashed his way through the Swinton defence to score the first try of the day. Minute silence for legend Bamford before Swinton Cup tie
Dewsbury Rams can announce that there will be a minutes silence before our 1895 cup game against Swinton on Sunday for recently deceased ex-player and coach Maurice Bamford. Bamford played for Dewsbury between 1957-63, he then retired from playing after having an injury plagued career. Bamford then went into coaching and became assistant coach to Dewsbury boss Tommy Smales in 1972. He was assistant to Smales in that glorious year of 1973 when Dewsbury won the Championship. Smales left the following year and Bamford took up the task of becoming Head coach in 1974. However his reign was short lived […]

Dewsbury Rams Martyn Reilly was pleased to get the win over Swinton Lions in the 1895 Cup on Sunday. Reilly made his first appearance in a Rams shirt for the first time in eleven months. His return from an ACL injury was one of the many positives to come out of the victory. On the win Reilly told BBC Radio Leeds: “It was great to get the win as last Sunday’s defeat was disappointing.
