Dewsbury Celtic will play their first ever televised match on Saturday 4th August, and the club is calling on supporters to help make the occasion special. The team teavels to face National Conference League Division Three league leaders Beverley. The match kicks off at 3.05pm and will be televised live on FreeSports. Shaw Cross Sharks assistant coach Wayne Stead believes the team’s home form can carry them to survival in Division One during the weeks ahead. The Sharks climbed out of the relegation zone with victory over Bradford Dudley Hill on Saturday, and the majority of their remaining fixtures are at home. “We’re pleased with the win, definitely. Vacancy: Physiotherapy Internship
Dewsbury Rams are looking to take on a small number of physiotherapy or sports therapy interns for the remainder of the 2018 season and 2019 season. The voluntary position would ideally suit an individual who has completed at least their first year of studying either Physiotherapy BSc or Sports Rehabilitation BSc and looking to gain experience within rugby league. The role is flexible in nature, you will always be supervised by a member of the Dewsbury Rams medical department. Hours are to be agreed in advance between the physiotherapist and volunteer. Report: Rams triumph in Heavy Woollen Derby
Dewsbury Rams were victorious against local rivals Batley Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon, winning the heavy woollen derby 23-20 at the Tetley’s Stadium. Whilst the visitors came up with two late tries to scare the Rams, it wasn’t enough for them to complete the comeback and Dewsbury in the end took the two points. The first ten minutes were a tight affair but it was Batley who scored the first try on the 9th minute, Brad Day ghosted through a gap in the Rams defence to score.
