Shaw Cross Sharks are launching a new book commemorating the club”s 70th anniversary. The book, titled ’70 Years of Reaching Forward’ will be launched at the Sharks’ clubhouse on Sunday 12th November, from 1.00pm. All members, players from past and present and local Rugby League supporters are invited to attend the event, which will be an opportunity to meet old friends and obtain a copy of the book. Squad takes shape ahead of return for pre-season
Dewsbury Rams head coach Neil Kelly has provided an insight into his preparations for the 2018 season, ahead of the squad’s return for training on 13th November. The Rams have secured the services of the majority of the 2017 squad ahead of the new campaign, while adding Martyn Reilly from Halifax, Harry Woollard from Huddersfield Giants and Jordan Crowther, on a season-long loan, from Wakefield Trinity. “We have signed the majority of the players that were in the squad last year, and have been able to make some additions to our squad,” said Kelly. Grassroots: Trojans host Oktoberfest celebration
Thornhill Trojans will host their own Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday 21st October. The event, which takes place in The Trojan Club from 5.00pm, will feature beer, bratwurst and entertainment from Matt North. For further information, visit the event page on Facebook.

Dewsbury Rams are pleased to have signed Huddersfield Giants centre, Harry Woollard, for the 2018 season. The 19-year-old signed for the Giants aged just 16 following a successful junior career with Shaw Cross Sharks, Dewsbury Moor and Drighlington. Dewsbury Moor secured promotion to National Conference Division Two on Saturday as they edged out Woolston 16-10 in a cracking play-off final at Heckmondwike Road. A large crowd of around 500 assembled to watch the pinnacle of Moor’s season, and a brilliant run that had seen them win their last 11 matches to reach the final. Read the full story
