The RFL have announced today that Ralph Rimmer is the new CEO of the organisation. A statement on the RFL’s website said: “The Rugby Football League today announces that Ralph Rimmer becomes the new CEO of the organisation, with immediate effect. “Ralph Rimmer, formerly the Chief Operating Officer of the Rugby Football League, has been Interim CEO of the National Governing Body since January. “He began his involvement in the sport as an amateur player and coach in Cumbria and has worked at all levels of the sport in Development, Performance, Club and Stadium management. “He was CEO of Sheffield […]

Dewsbury Rams were defeated on Sunday afternoon by Sheffield Eagles at the Olympic Legacy Park by 30 points to 28. The Rams fought hard to come back from behind to come within two points of drawing the fixture. However it was heartbreaking for the Rams at the end when captain Paul Sykes missed a conversion on the hooter which could have given the Rams a draw. Grassroots: Thornhill’s momentum continues, wins for Moor and Celtic
Thornhill Trojans moved a step closer to securing promotion out of National Conference League Division One with a resounding victory away at Skirlaugh. The Trojans trailed 24-20 at the interval, but scored 32 unanswered points after the break. Ryan Fenton scored a hat-trick and Danny Ratcliffe grabbed a brace, while Jake Wilson, Andrew Lambert, Zach Johnson and George Woodcock also grabbed tries. Woodcock kicked three goals and Joel Gibson kicked five. Elsewhere in the division, Shaw Cross Sharks suffered a 44-0 defeat away at Leigh Miners Rangers.
