Sunday’s Mascots
Dewsbury Rams would like to present this Sunday’s game day mascots. Representing Dewsbury Lily Lily is a 4th generation Rams fan, her favourite player is Paul Sykes. Lily is wearing a signed shirt which belonged to Michael Wainwright whom her great grandfather, Les Whitaker sponsored. Representing York City Knights Connor Connor is 12 years old and he is about to begin his first full season playing rugby league. He plays on the wing for Brotherton Bulldogs. Connor’s favourite York player is Matty Marsh. Everyone at the Rams hopes both mascots enjoy their day at the club.
Ryder Reacts to new contract
Dewsbury Rams centre Adam Ryder has decided to put pen to paper on a new two year contract, the 29 year old has become a real fans favourite at the club with his pacey and powerful runs forward. The dynamic former Keighley man insists this is the right place for him to be and so has signed a new deal until the year 2021. Rams continue business partnership
Dewsbury Rams have come up with a new initiative to get local people to support the Rams in a new off the field way. Some supporters may remember last season that posters were made to advertise home league matches; these posters were kindly designed by Dewsbury Rams volunteer Tom Coates and distributed by another volunteer Alan Gill. This season the Rams have decided to make one poster for all season, this poster has the club’s logo on, the team photograph which was kindly taken by freelance photographer Peter Smith. Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood will take charge of his first competitive game at the helm of the Rams Greenwood has put together a fit, hungry young squad and he insists he can’t wait for his team to take the field on Sunday.
