Head Coach Lee Greenwood has given his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s Betfred Championship clash against Workington Town. Reflecting on our recent defeat against Batley, Greenwood said “I thought we were very good for our eight-point lead with fifty minutes gone, but the sin-binning totally changed the game. NWSS WARRIORS COLLECTION ON SUNDAY
Before Sunday’s game against Workington Town, representatives from the National Wiedemann Steiner Syndrome Warriors will be having a bucket collection around the Tetley’s Stadium. Weidemann-Steiner syndrome is a rare genetic disorder resulting from mutations in the MLL (also known as the KMT2A) gene on the long arm of chromosome 11. With less than a thousand people in the world diagnosed with WSS, the National Wiedeman-Steiner Syndrome Warriors were formed with the aim of raising awareness of the condition as well as giving support to those people who have been affected by the syndrome. MINUTE’S SILENCE AHEAD OF WORKINGTON GAME
Prior to kick-off at Sunday’s game against Workington Town, we will be holding a minute’s silence to remember former Dewsbury players, Harry Beverley and Leon Williamson. Harry Beverley was an athletic prop forward who was much admired amongst Dewsbury fans. Harry joined the club in 1971 and played for six years, playing a key part in the 1973 Championship winning side. After leaving Dewsbury, Harry went on to play Workington, making 94 appearances over two spells as well as spending four years at Fulham RLFC. Harry had been battling a long illness and sadly passed on 29th March aged 74. […]
