RFL Statement about coronavirus
The RFL have released the following statement this evening about the coronavirus outbreak and COVID-19. The statement said: “Following this afternoon’s update in Downing Street, the RFL has communicated with all clubs about the position for this weekend’s fixtures and beyond. For supporters and those involved with the community game, we recognise the situation may also be unsettling or confusing, with a number of high-profile international sporting competitions and fixtures involving British clubs being affected. Greenwood: Biggest win of the season so far
Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood admits that he told his players before the game against Whitehaven that a win in Cumbria would be the biggest of the season. The Rams were victorious on the night, winning 22-16 in what were horrendous conditions. On the victory Greenwood said: “I told the players before the game that this would be the biggest win of the season so far. Dewsbury Rams ground out an impressive 22-16 victory over Whitehaven in horrendous conditions up in Cumbria to go through to the fifth round of the Challenge Cup. The West Yorkshire club did it tough in mud-bath conditions that affected a free flowing game. The match started off in a scrappy affair as both sides quickly became caked in mud. Liam Finn thought he’d scored an early try for the Rams on the 3rd minute but not to be. It was the home side who managed to get over the line first in the 11th minute.
