Despite a spirited defensive performance for large periods, quickfire tries at the start and end of the second half ensured a second Easter defeat for Dewsbury Rams. Simon Brown and Kyle Trout crossed for the Rams, and Liam Finn kicked two goals, but a strong second half from the home side extinguished the Rams’ hopes of a win on the road. Greenwood reviews Batley defeat
Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood insists he is disappointed with his teams defeat to the Batley Bulldogs. The Rams lost 20-8 on the night in the first Heavy Woollen derby game of the season. On the defeat he said: “It wasn’t good, we sort of went OK for 35 minutes or so, there were some decent performances in there. Then at that point they started to lose discipline and were down to 11 men at one point. “Maybe we could have converted the ball a bit better when they were down on numbers. The Dewsbury Rams club shop will have a special Good Friday deal for some brilliant Easter gifts. Dewsbury are taking on local rivals Batley Bulldogs tonight with a 7pm kick off and supporters can get some fantastic gifts in the club shop. Ram Easter Bunnies- including a Cadbury Cream Egg £1.50 Ram Easter Chicks- including a Cadbury Cream Egg £3 You can also get a free cream egg with every soft toy purchased.
Amber Ribbon bus to Widnes
There are still places available for the Amber Ribbon bus to Widnes. The Amber Ribbon are running a coach to our away game against Widnes on Sunday. The cost to travel with them is just £12. Pick up points are as follows. Hanging Heaton WMC 12PM Timepiece weatherspoons 12,15PM Mirfield Town centre by the Tesco 12,30PM The bus will be setting back off home one hour after the end of the game, 6pm.
