Dewsbury Rams captain Paul Sykes insisted that Sunday’s win over Batley at the Blackpool Summer Bash was vital. The Rams beat the Bulldogs 18-20 on the day and Sykes said he was pleased to get the victory. The Rugby Football League is delighted to announce that the 2018 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup semi-finals will be played as a double header at Macron Stadium, Bolton on Sunday August 5. For the first time in Challenge Cup history the semi-finals will be played at one venue on the same day with every minute of the fast paced action broadcast live on the BBC. Macron Stadium, which has a capacity of just under 30,000 is no stranger to Rugby League with three World Club Challenge games and three international Test matches being played there between 1998-2007. Dewsbury Rams 20 Batley Bulldogs 18 Dewsbury Rams defeated local rivals Batley Bulldogs on Sunday at the Summer Bash. The Rams went into the fixture having not won since February. However, a draw against Halifax the week before meant spirits were high going into the game. After a really tight first 14 minutes, it was Aaron Brown who opened the scoring for Dewsbury.
