Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood is looking for his side to improve on the disappointing display given at the Shay Stadium last season. Greenwood is interested to see how his side have developed over the last year going into this fixture. Well Round 2 of the Betfred Championship fixtures were severely disrupted last Sunday due to the inconvenience of storm Ciara making her presence felt. Games at Swinton Lions, Featherstone Rovers and York City Knights were postponed. The game at Widnes Vikings was delayed 15 mins as the Batley Bulldogs coach was late in getting to the ground. The Vikings finishing the stronger to win the game. Ciara couldn’t stop London Broncos eventually overcoming a spirited Whitehaven team. Dewsbury Rams can reveal that Betfred Super League side Leeds Rhinos Foundation will now be hosting their Development camp on 21st February at the Tetley’s Stadium. CORAL CHALLENGE CUP THIRD ROUND THORNHILL TROJANS 20 DONCASTER 24 It is difficult to write anything that does justice to the magnificent performance by Thornhill at The Tetleys Stadium last Saturday. The AB Sundecks 1895 Cup will have a fresh look in its second season, with three Community clubs from the National Conference League Premier Division joining 17 from Betfred Championship and League 1 for a second opportunity in 2020 to reach a Wembley Final. The NCL champions West Hull will join York Acorn and Underbank Rangers – who are both still alive and kicking in the Coral Challenge Cup – in the First Round draw which will be held in Cumbria on March 18. Dewsbury Rams will this weekend take on Halifax in what should be an interesting Betfred Championship fixture. After last week’s postponed matches the Rams will be hoping to back up the encouraging performance against Leigh on the opening weekend. Dewsbury lost 36-10 however many people including head coach Lee Greenwood believes that scoreline was a little harsh on the Rams.
