We are delighted to announce that Lewis Carr has re-signed for the Rams for the 2023 season! The 22-year-old who is currently this season’s joint top try scorer, has made twenty-nine appearances for the Rams in his two seasons with the club and has committed for a third successive year. Twelve-man Rams battle valiantly but lose out to Barrow Raiders. Another trip to Cumbria awaited the Rams on the first weekend of September to face this season’s surprise package Barrow Raiders, looking to avenge their narrow defeat on Monday night against Batley Bulldogs. The game got underway in feisty fashion with Josh Wood sent to the sin-bin early on for a late shot on Jimmy Beckett, which would force the Prop to miss the rest of the game due to concussion protocols. PRESENTATION NIGHT AWARD WINNERS
The award winners from this evening’s Annual Presentation Night have been announced! Jimmy Beckett, who had his re-signing for 2023 announced during the Presentation Night won both the Man of Steel and Player’s Player of the Year Award. Recent stand-in skipper Reiss Butterworth picked up the Coach’s Player of the Year Award, awarded to him by Head Coach Liam Finn. 41-year-old Paul Sykes was the recipient of both the Amber Ribbon Player of the Year Award and Supporters Player of the Year. BECKETT RE-SIGNS FOR 2023
We are delighted to announce that Jimmy Beckett has re-signed for the Rams for the 2023 season! The Prop Forward who celebrated his twenty-third birthday on Monday, joined the Rams on loan from Featherstone Rovers in 2021 before making the deal permanent ahead of the 2022 season and has now committed to another season at the Tetley’s Stadium. Since joining, Beckett has made thirty-seven appearances, including twenty-five this season. On re-signing Beckett said, “I’m buzzing to have signed an extension with the club.
