Rams back British Heart Foundation
Dewsbury Rams are backing the British Heart Foundation by asking supporters to bring any old unwanted clothes or objects that you would normally take to a charity shop to the ground on Sunday. On Sunday the Rams will play Barrow Raiders in the Betfred Championship shield, and we are encouraging Barrow fans as well as Dewsbury fans to help us support the charity. The British Heart Foundation is a charity that has a big standing in Rugby League, and has helped many players down the years. Dewsbury Rams were victorious against Sheffield Eagles on Friday night by beating them 30-20 at the Olympic Legacy Park. The victory leaves the Rams seven points above the drop zone and only three points behind Batley who sit in third position in the Championship Shield table. The game was extremely tight for the first twenty minutes, but it was the Rams who opened the scoring first on the 24th minute. Dewsbury Rams were 30-20 winners away at Sheffield Eagles this evening. Tries from Adam Ryder, Robbie Ward and Daniel Igbinedion, and a brace from Brad Delaney, sealed the win. Paul Sykes kicked five goals. Full match report to follow.
Knowles excited about return to Sheffield
Dewsbury Rams second-rower Michael Knowles is looking forward to again returning to his old club to face Sheffield Eagles. He said: “I had some good years at Sheffield and made some good memories from my time at the club. It doesn’t make me more motivated to win, every game I am involved in I want to win.” Knowles says he would like to cross the try line in future more regularly. He commented: “I haven’t crossed as much as i would have liked to. I aim to be over 10 tries a year but only notched a couple this year.” […]
Kelly delighted with win
Dewsbury Rams head coach Neil Kelly was delighted with the victory on Friday night in Sheffield. The Rams defeated the Eagles 30-20 to gain two more vital points in the Championship Shield. On the performance Kelly said: “First of all any win at Sheffield is a good win. I thought it was a jekyll and Hyde performance really. For all we reached brilliance in some stages, we put together some great sets. I thought we defended superbly well even though we conceded 20 odd points.
