O’CONNOR SIGNS FOR 2023
We are delighted to announce that Bailey O’Connor has signed for the Rams for the 2023 season! The twenty-year-old who can operate at full-back, centre and half-back has signed on for 2023 after impressing in pre-season, featuring in our final two friendlies against Bradford and Huddersfield. The highly rated youngster most recently played for Lock Lane ARLFC and has also featured for England Community Lions. CHALLENGE CUP SECOND ROUND
Our Challenge Cup Second Round tie against Ashton Bears will be played at FLAIR Stadium on Saturday 25th February. Ashton Bears ARFLC, who are based in Ashton-in-Makerfield, secured their place in the Second Round as they beat British Army Rugby League in the First Round on Saturday afternoon. Although the draw had handed us an away game against the winner of that tie, the game will now be played at FLAIR Stadium with kick-off at 14:00. Rams lose out against strong Giants side in final pre-season outing. In the Rams’ final pre-season game at the John Smith’s Stadium against Huddersfield Giants, the home side fielded a very strong starting thirteen who showed their quality early by running in three tries in the first ten minutes through Chris Hill, Kevin Naiqama and Leroy Cudjoe. NORTH WALES VENUE CHANGE
Next Sunday’s Betfred League One opener against North Wales Crusaders will now be played at the DCBL Stadium in Widnes. The fixture which was due to be played at Stadiwm CSM in Colwyn Bay will now take place at the home of the Widnes Vikings, at the request of WRU due to an international fixture taking place at Stadiwm CSM the following Friday. The kick-off time will remain at 14:30 on Sunday 19th February and all tickets that have been purchased through the North Wales Crusaders online ticket store will still be valid for the new venue.
