Dewsbury Rams 20 Batley Bulldogs 18 Dewsbury Rams defeated local rivals Batley Bulldogs on Sunday at the Summer Bash. The Rams went into the fixture having not won since February. However, a draw against Halifax the week before meant spirits were high going into the game. After a really tight first 14 minutes, it was Aaron Brown who opened the scoring for Dewsbury. This weekend it’s once again time for all the championship clubs to meet up in Blackpool for the 2018 Summer Bash. The Rams will as ever play local rivals Batley Bulldogs in what will once again be a hotly contested game on the west coast of England. The two sides have met three times since the event was created, and the Rams have the upper hand, winning two out of the three games, losing the other one. Dewsbury Rams head coach Neil Kelly was delighted with his team’s performance and result against Halifax. The game ended 22-22 in what was an exciting game in which the Rams dominated for long parts. Dewsbury Rams ended a run of nine defeats after claiming a well deserved draw away at Halifax on Sunday afternoon. The game started well for the visitors, and they thought they had scored on the fifth minute when Robbie Ward ghosted through the Halifax defence to put the ball down over the line, however play was brought back for a knock on earlier in the move. He now wants his side to take the positives from the win into the Rams next game which is at home to Featherstone Rovers on the 10th June.
