Dewsbury Rams lost their first game of the season 22-26 to York City Knights. The Rams were 14-0 up at half time, but a second half that saw York score four tries and penalty meant the away side came away with the victory. A full match report is to follow. Rams celebrate Jack Addy’s 80th birthday
Dewsbury Rams would like to wish honorary president and lifelong Dewsbury stalwart Jack Addy a happy 80th birthday. Jack’s birthday is actually on the 12th February but as this is the closest home game to his actual birthday, we wanted to wish him well today. Jack has Dewsbury Rams running through his veins, spending time in the past in many roles including the Head Coach. Today we are celebrating Jack’s milestone with a presentation in the Royal Suite after the game. All welcome.

Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood will take charge of his first competitive game at the helm of the Rams Greenwood has put together a fit, hungry young squad and he insists he can’t wait for his team to take the field on Sunday. Sunday’s Mascots
Dewsbury Rams would like to present this Sunday’s game day mascots. Representing Dewsbury Lily Lily is a 4th generation Rams fan, her favourite player is Paul Sykes. Lily is wearing a signed shirt which belonged to Michael Wainwright whom her great grandfather, Les Whitaker sponsored. Representing York City Knights Connor Connor is 12 years old and he is about to begin his first full season playing rugby league. He plays on the wing for Brotherton Bulldogs. Connor’s favourite York player is Matty Marsh. Everyone at the Rams hopes both mascots enjoy their day at the club.
Ryder Reacts to new contract
Dewsbury Rams centre Adam Ryder has decided to put pen to paper on a new two year contract, the 29 year old has become a real fans favourite at the club with his pacey and powerful runs forward. The dynamic former Keighley man insists this is the right place for him to be and so has signed a new deal until the year 2021. Callum Field joins Rams on loan
Dewsbury Rams can confirm that Wigan Warriors centre/second rower Callum Field has joined the club on loan for a month. Field has had various spells out on loan at Swinton and London Broncos, and the 21 year old will now link up with head coach Lee Greenwood’s squad for at least the next month.
