The RFL Board considered a number of matters arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, and its implications on Rugby League. The Board approved the introduction of a number of law changes for the resumption of the 2020 season, which had been recommended by June’s meeting of the Laws Committee, all with a specific intent of protecting the welfare of players, and mitigating risk. One head scratcher for me looking at our three-quarter line up at Dewsbury over the years has been the versatility factor; wingers and centres seem to have been able to swap roles with regularity over the years. Prior to the introduction of squad numbers, it is a fact that numbers two to five have been quite interchangeable! Roger the Ram reaches mascot last 16
Our very own Roger the Ram has reached the last 16 in the battle to crown Rugby League’s most iconic mascot of all time. Following on from the success of the RFL125 World Cup of Kits and World Cup of Stadia, The RFL is continuing to celebrate the 125th anniversary of our great sport. Following a round of fan voting, a shortlist of 16 mascots has been drawn up, including Roger. Betfred Championship and League 1 Forum
Betfred Championship and League 1 clubs held a scheduled Forum via video conference today, chaired by Simon Johnson, RFL Chair. The clubs discussed a range of issues, with the main topic of discussion to consider options for the 2020 season, following its suspension on March 16. Reports from the two working groups that had been set up at the last Forum, in mid-May, were presented – one on cost and logistics, the other on revenue opportunities. A range of views were expressed by clubs, both on the issues involved – now involving the possible return of crowds to sport later […]
Head coach Lee Greenwood signs new two-year contract
Dewsbury Rams today announces a new two-year contract for head coach Lee Greenwood, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2022 season. The news was revealed exclusively to season ticket holders last week. Greenwood arrived at The Tetley’s Stadium at the start of the 2019 season and quickly built a squad from the bare bones, before guiding the club to Championship safety that year. He was instrumental in the recruitment of players such as Joe Martin, Frazer Morris, Andy Gabriel and Tom Garratt, as the team pulled off the wins needed for survival, including the stellar victories […]
