HIRD SIGNS FOR 2024
We are delighted to announce that Joe Hird has signed on loan for the Rams for 2024 from Sheffield Eagles! The twenty-year-old prop joins us for on-loan from Sheffield Eagles for the 2024 season. Hird joined the South Yorkshire side ahead of the 2023 season, after rising through the ranks at the Leeds Rhinos academy, where he was captain of the reserve side. In 2023, Hird played ten times in total, making appearances for Rochdale and Keighley as well as Sheffield. TRACY SUTCLIFFE – RIP
Everybody at Dewsbury Rams is saddened to hear of the passing of Tracy Sutcliffe, after losing her battle against cancer. Tracy, along with her husband Andy, was a loyal supporter and long-term sponsor of the club. The club and all our supporters send our condolences to all the family at this difficult time. TURNER JOINS AS ASSISTANT COACH
We are delighted to welcome Conor Turner to the club as our new Assistant Coach. Turner, who is the brother of Rams star Calum Turner, joins us from Lock Lane ARLFC where he was part of the coaching setup for four years after playing for the Castleford-based side throughout his amateur career. Upon joining the Rams, Turner said “I’ve been coaching with Lock Lane for a while now and I’m delighted to have the opportunity at the Rams. RAMS HELD BY BULLDOGS
Rams pegged back by Bulldogs to share spoils in Boxing Day friendly. After what seemed like an eternity following the Betfred League One title victory in August, the Rams were finally back in action at FLAIR Stadium for the annual Boxing Day friendly against Batley Bulldogs. The game started very slowly with the Rams under pressure after giving away several early penalties but managed to keep the Bulldogs at bay, a last-ditch tackle by Paul Sykes being a notable highlight. As expected it was a full-blooded affair with neither side treating it as a ‘friendly’ in what were boggy conditions. […]
