Just some of them have come off thinking they can do more which is good. “After the game there was a sense of we could have done more. Many years ago when I joined the Dewsbury & Batley Referees Society a wise old sage uttered the words ‘In Rugby League there is no such thing as a friendly!’ The thing about last weekend is that the game was shrouded by trepidation even if nobody was prepared to admit it. None of the players had taken a big hit for a year. Neither had they been exposed to the mental & physical demands of a game day. Remarkably there were no points […]

Swinton away fixture changes
Dewsbury Rams can confirm that our fixture away at the Swinton Lions has been moved to May 17th. The game will now kick off at 7:45pm. The game was originally scheduled to take place on Sunday 16th May. However the kick-off has now been delayed by a day in the hope that this will enable Swinton to welcome back spectators. The 17th May being one of the key staging dates in the government’s post-covid road map. The caveat being that if in the meantime crowd restrictions are extended by government, the game will revert back to Sunday 16th May behind closed doors.
