
Stadium hosts tribute to Will Forsyth
Family, friends and team-mates of Will Forsyth visited The Tetley’s Stadium this weekend to pay their respects following Will’s passing last week. Leading the tributes were former Reserves coach Jonathan Schofield, former Reserves team captain James Delaney and Will’s dad, Craig Forsyth. Representatives of the club were at the ground to receive Will’s family and friends. Those in attendance laid flowers on the pitch in his memory. A one minute’s silence was held, followed by a further minute’s round of applause. Jack Addy RIP
Dewsbury Rams is sad to announce the passing of former player, coach and current club president Jack Addy. Jack had been suffering from dementia for some time, along with other health conditions, and was recently admitted back into hospital where he sadly passed away today aged 81. Dewsbury RLFC was a major part of Jack’s life, beginning with his early days as a player in the Colts team, but it was his time as head coach that really stood out. He first took on the role in the 1983/84 season after the resignation of Tommy Smales and slowly put together […]

RFL update on Championship and League 1
Following a remote meeting of the RFL and Betfred Championship and League 1 clubs this afternoon (Wednesday), two working groups have been set up to consider the issues surrounding the possible resumption of the sport at this level. One of the groups will consider the costs and other logistics surrounding matches taking place behind closed doors for broadcast. The Government’s Covid-19 Recovery Strategy published earlier this week clarified that they would permit “cultural and sporting events to take place behind closed-doors for broadcast, while avoiding the risk of large-scale social contact” to begin “no earlier than Monday 1 June.” The other […]

Will Forsyth RIP
It is with great sadness that Dewsbury Rams announces the passing of former player Will Forsyth, aged 24, following a brave battle against cancer. Will made his first team debut for the Rams on Sunday 22nd March 2015, in a 28-18 Challenge Cup win against Newcastle Thunder. He also played against Warrington Wolves in the Cup quarter-final defeat in May of that year. Will was an integral part of the successful Dewsbury Rams Reserves team that lifted Reserves Championship trophy in 2015 with victory over Leigh Centurions in the Grand Final in September. RFL announces postponement of Challenge Cup and 1895 Cup Finals
The RFL today confirms the postponement of the Coral Challenge Cup Final and AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final, which had been scheduled for July 18 at Wembley Stadium connected by EE. The intention remains for the Finals to be played later in the year – contingent on the public health situation and Government advice.
