Dewsbury Rams can reveal winger Andy Gabriel has agreed to stay at the club for another 12 months. Gabriel joined the Rams at the start of the 2019 season. He moved from Betfred League one side Keighley Cougars. Whilst at Keighley he became a prominent scorer in England’s third tier and is now showing what he can do on a bigger stage with Dewsbury. Martin- Let’s get the good times rolling
The club recently confirmed the re-signing of fullback Joe Martin. The former Fax man has become a fans favourite as his dependable performances on the pitch have been to a high standard. On him signing a new deal at the Rams, Martin said: “I am really enjoying it, I have had chance to cement a spot and I am grateful for that. I just want to keep working hard and hopefully seeing myself improve.” The Rams started the curtailed 2020 season off well, winning four out of their first six fixtures. Dewsbury Rams can announce that Joe Martin will be part of Lee Greenwood’s 2021 squad. Martin is just the latest player to take up the fullback position and follows in a long list of talented number 1’s at the club. Martin joined Dewsbury in 2019, and scored two tries in his first game against Rochdale Hornets. Since then Martin has gone from strength to strength and is now a regular name on the team sheet. RFL statement
The RFL will continue to work with those Betfred Championship and League 1 clubs who are keen to return to action earlier than the scheduled start of the 2021 season after an agreement that it is not feasible to arrange a one-off competition this autumn. Initial discussions have already been held about the possibility of amending the format of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup to allow for a number of rounds of regional group fixtures being played over the winter.
