Dewsbury Rams are proud to pledge our support to the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund for the 2026 season, with a focus on raising critical awareness for cardiac health in rugby league.
To highlight this important cause, the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund logo is featured on the sleeves of both our Home and Away shirts throughout the upcoming campaign.
The fund was established in memory of former Keighley Cougars and Wales international Danny Jones, who tragically suffered a fatal cardiac arrest during a match in May 2015. Since then, his widow Lizzie Jones MBE has campaigned tirelessly to ensure that heart screening is available to players and that life-saving defibrillators are accessible at grassroots clubs across the country.
By carrying the fund’s logo on our kit, the Rams aim to keep Danny’s legacy alive and use our platform to remind fans, players, and the wider community of the importance of heart health.
Speaking on the initiative, headcoach Paul March said:
“We are honoured to support the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund this year. Danny’s story touched everyone in the rugby league community, and the work Lizzie and the fund have done since then has undoubtedly saved lives.
“Having the logo on our sleeves is a gesture of our support, but our main goal is to drive the conversation. We want to encourage everyone—whether you are a player, a parent, or a supporter—to understand the importance of defibrillators and cardiac screening. We wear this badge with immense pride.”
About the Fund The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund provides grants to help community rugby league clubs and junior teams purchase defibrillators. To date, the fund has helped hundreds of clubs safeguard their players, officials, and spectators.
