It was with great sadness that everyone at Dewsbury Rams learned of the passing of our dear friend and loyal supporter, Lewis Bairstow, following his courageous battle with MND in June.
Lewis, together with his wife Rita, was a valued member of the Rams family for many years. As a dedicated supporter, long-term volunteer and player sponsor, his unwavering commitment to the club will always be remembered. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Rita, their family and friends at this difficult time.
Lewis’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 14 July 2026 at 11:15am at Dewsbury Crematorium, Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury, WF13 3PL.
Following the service, a celebration of Lewis’s life will be held in the Royal Suite at Dewsbury Rams Rugby Club, where family, friends and members of the Rams community are welcome to come together to share memories and celebrate his life.
There is no dress code, but Rita has kindly asked that anyone wishing to attend wear their Dewsbury Rams shirt if possible, as a fitting tribute to Lewis.
