Matty Gee arives on Dual-Reg from Hull KR

Dewsbury Rams can confirm that Hull KR second rower/loose forward Matty Gee has joined the club on dual-registration.

The 25 year old has played at the highest level of the game in Betfred Super League for the London Broncos. Having signed for Hull KR at the start of this season, Gee has arrived at the Tetley’s Stadium to get game time. He started his career at Super League side the Salford Red Devils.

On bringing Gee in, Greenwood said: “This week there were a couple of players available to us so I have decided to bring Matt Gee in. He hasn’t quite got into Hull KR’s 17 but I am sure he won’t be far off it. He was good for London in Super League last year and that is why Hull KR signed him.

“It is good for us that we bring in a full time forward who is out to impress, wants to be here and will do all he can to get back into Hull KR’s team. I think him coming in is a good little boost for us and keeps a few of our lads on their toes too.

“He’s a similar size to Annakin really, a stocky, robust sort of fella who likes to get stuck in, particularly in defence. I think he’ll just slot in nicely to what we have, I have spoken to him a number of times and he comes across as a nice lad. People speak highly of him and he’s not coming here as a punishment or anything like that because he wants to be here he wants to play this week. His end goal is to get in the Hull KR side and if it means he plays well for us and it helps us out then all well and good.”
