A talented hooker, McShane was instrumental in Hunslet ARLFC’s triumph in the National Conference League. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our former player, Mick Hughes, who left us on 15th January 2025, after a courageous battle with MND, which he was diagnosed with in mid-2024. Mick was born on 19th August 1950. Mick had a distinguished rugby career, playing for several clubs including Hull Kingston Rovers, Hunslet, Wakefield, York, and Dewsbury. He began his playing career with Hull KR in the late 1970s and finished with Dewsbury in the late 1980s. During his time at York, Mick played over 100 games and was part of the team that reached […]
