KNIGHTS BEAT RAMS

Rams beaten by York Knights at LNER Community Stadium.

After last week’s defeat against Wakefield Trinity, the Rams made the short trip to North Yorkshire to the LNER Community Stadium for a game against York Knights.

The game didn’t get off to an ideal start for the Rams when Joe Law cut through the Dewsbury defence in the third minute to score the opening points of the game.

Perry Whiteley got the Rams on the board just before the ten-minute-mark with an excellent finish in the corner and a brilliant conversion from the touchline by Calum Turner levelled the scores.

However, this didn’t last for long when Jordan Thompson put the home side back in front after finding a gap in the Rams’ defence.

York added three more tries before the end of the first half. Firstly, Joe Brown finished well for his first of the afternoon, then James Cunningham scored after a scoot from dummy-half and with just minutes remaining in the half, AJ Towse added another score for York.

The second half carried on in a similar fashion to the first, ten minutes into the second half, Jimmy Keinhorst scored in the corner followed shortly after by Joe Brown with his second. Brad Ward scored in the corner for York with just over seventy minutes on the clock.

Bailey O’Connor pulled a consolation try back for the Rams, but York managed to score two more before the end through Will Jubb and then Jimmy Keinhorst, who scored on the final play of the game.

After the game Rams Head Coach Paul March said “Disappointing today, we came here today thinking that we could put right a few wrongs from the game earlier this year against York but we’ve let ourselves down again.”

Our next game sees us back at FLAIR Stadium to face Barrow Raiders on Sunday 18th August with kick off at 15:00.
