We are delighted to announce that Reiss Butterworth has returned to the Rams on an initial two-week loan from Hull Kingston Rovers.
The twenty-four-year-old who captained the Rams to Betfred League One glory in 2023 has re-joined the club on an initial short term loan deal.
Butterworth made sixty-two appearances in his first spell with the club scoring eight tries and also he picked up the Betfred League One Player of the Year Award last year, before departing for Super League.
This season Butterworth has featured in Super League for London Broncos and in the Betfred Championship with Featherstone Rovers.
Butterworth said “I’m really excited to be back on a short-term loan at Dewsbury and get some good game time. There’s a really good group of boys and staff down here and I can’t wait to get started.”
Head Coach Paul March said “I’m happy that Mark has got this one over the line and I’m looking forward to seeing Reiss back in the red, amber and black. He’ll add spark around dummy half and he’s a very strong defender, with him coming in he’ll add more competition for places.”
The club would like to place on record its thanks to Squadbuilder for their contribution towards Reiss’ loan. Squadbuilder will be Reiss’ player sponsor during his time at the club.
