Rams beaten by Bulls at FLAIR Stadium in AB Sundecks 1895 Cup.
After last week’s defeat at Cougar Park, the Rams were back on home turf and looking to put things right against the side from Odsal.
However, things didn’t go quite to plan for the Rams, as the Bulls went ahead early on after a slick move put Kieran Gill through to score.
Just after the ten minute mark, Ronan Dixon was sent to the sin-bin for a dangerous tackle and Bradford capitalised on the extra man advantage with two tries, first from Joe Arundel and then Ebon Scurr crashed over from short range after back-to-back penalties. Jayden Myers added to the Bulls tally shortly after Dixon had returned.
The Rams did manage a score through Perry Whiteley , who scored his first try of the season after a great offload by Brad Graham.
However, the Bulls answered straight back with a further two tries before the break, Jorge Taufua scored after evading a couple of Rams tacklers, then Mitch Souter scored after an offload close to the Rams line.
Into the second and half the Rams were looking to fight back but it was the visitors who got the final two scores of the game with Jorge Taufua scoring his second and ex-Ram Aidan McGowan, who went over straight from the scrum after the Rams knocked on close to their own line.
With the game away from them the Rams battled hard and continued to have some good pressure but couldn’t make it count, George Flanagan was sent to the sin-bin for the away side with less than fifteen minutes remaining after a fracas.
After the game Rams Head Coach Dale Ferguson said, “It’s very frustrating that we gave away a twenty-point head start before we started doing the things that we wanted to do.”
Our next game sees us back at FLAIR Stadium next Sunday to face York Knights in Round 3 of the Betfred Challenge Cup with kick-off at 14:00.
