Jimmy Beckett, Elliot Morris and Davey Dixon will all continue with the Rams in 2024 as they enter into the second year of two-year deals.
The three players signed two-year deals ahead of the 2023 season and will be staying with the Rams as we head back into the Betfred Championship for 2024.
Jimmy Beckett has quickly become a fans’ favourite since he arrived from Featherstone Rovers in 2021, making sixty appearances and scoring six tries. In 2023, he was the named the Coaches Player of the Year after a terrific season for the twenty-four-year-old in which he made twenty-two appearances scoring four tries.
Elliot Morris, who joined on a permanent deal from Halifax ahead of the 2023 season, after featuring on loan in 2022, also had a significant role to play in the Betfred League One title victory, featuring twenty-one times and scoring once.
Despite having a stop-start season last season, Scotland International Davey Dixon, who will enter his fifth season with the Rams, still managed to score seven times in just seven appearances including a hat-trick against Cornwall.
Head Coach Dale Ferguson said “I’m very pleased to have all three on board for next year, Jimmy adds a lot to the squad with his leadership qualities and the pack around him will be able to learn a lot from him next season.
Elliot will be a great asset to the squad as he has been in 2023, he can start or come of the bench as he has done and you’re always guaranteed to get 100% from him.
Davey brings us a lot of strike on our edge and I’m looking forward to having him back with the squad as he missed a few spells for us in 2023.”
It’s great to have all three players on board for 2024, make sure keep an eye out for more re-signings in the next few weeks!
