‘LOOKING BACK’ SESSIONS UPDATE

We are delighted to be able to report that the future of the ‘Looking Back’ Sessions has been secured for the next twelve months with a grant award from the Cheshire Community Foundation via its Assura Community Grants programme.

The grant award will enable ‘Looking Back’ to continue their use of both the corporate and bar facilities at the club, providing a warm space with warm drinks for participants to come and discuss all things Rugby League in the weekly sessions.

The sessions are open to all and help to stimulate memories among participants as well as helping to remove the feelings of isolation, giving people to make new and long-lasting friendships. The grant award was facilitated by the Trust arm of the club.

Allison Simpson of Looking Back said “Rugby League is such a big part of people’s lives – so much so, that reminiscing about days gone by gives a lot of pleasure to many people – former players, officials and lifelong supporters alike.

We’re delighted that we can continue to deliver our weekly sessions at FLAIR Stadium with the support of Dewsbury Rams and this generous grant support.”

Rams Chairman Mark Sawyer said, “We are really pleased that through our Trust and the Cheshire Community Foundation we have been able to obtain the funding to help with the costs of the ‘Looking Back’ Sessions. It is so important that we play our part in helping people that may feel socially isolated or have memory loss problems”

Dewsbury Rams would like to thank the Cheshire Community Foundation for this important support that comes at a time of unprecedented rises in costs associated around heating and energy costs.
