Dewsbury Rams can now offer the following update regarding the South Stand for the 2023 season.
In an effort to reduce matchday costs and invest further into the playing budget for this upcoming season, the South Stand and associated areas will be closed for the 2023 season.
During the last week we have held discussions with Kirklees Council around the possibility of reducing stewarding numbers for the South Stand in anticipation of reduced occupancy levels for 2023.
Unfortunately, we were informed that because the South Stand is a ‘designated stand’ there are specific requirements attached to it, meaning that the same stewarding levels apply regardless of the number of spectators in there.
We already have a sliding scale of stewarding agreed with Kirklees Council for the South Stand and we were not able to gain further concessions.
We understand that this news will be disappointing for some fans, however the Beaumont Terrace will still be open on a matchday as this is managed slightly different to the South Stand and it will be open throughout the season for those spectators who prefer to stand.
2023 Season Tickets will allow free movement between the Beaumont Terrace, North Stand and Bar/ Refreshment areas including the North Stand Outdoor Bar and Patio.
We will be monitoring attendances throughout the season and will be ready to re-open the South Stand should the need arise.
