We are delighted to announce that Owen Restall has joined the Rams for the 2023 season!
Twenty-seven-year-old Restall joins us from Oldham RLFC where last year he made twenty-two appearances scoring twenty-one tries. Restall, who operates predominantly at fullback but also on the wing was League One’s third highest try scorer last year, which was some achievement as it was his first season playing professional rugby league after a long amateur career.
On joining the Rams, Restall said, “Obviously I’m delighted to sign for Dewsbury. It was a really easy decision after speaking with Finny and hopefully I can kick on from last and help the team reach our goals.”
Head Coach Liam Finn said “Owen is a player who will excite the fans with his running game. He’s a player who delayed taking up professional rugby because he was enjoying his work career and playing high level amateur in the NCL. He played for Oldham last year and showed straight away what a quality player he is, top scoring for them. We’re hoping to keep adding to his quality and he adds to our already dangerous back line.”
Keep your eyes peeled as we’ll be announcing another new signing tomorrow evening!
