SPEAKMAN ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Dom Speakman has announced his retirement from Rugby League.

Twenty-eight-year-old Speakman made his debut for St Helens in 2013 before stints with Rochdale, North Wales and Barrow followed and finally making his way to the Tetley’s Stadium in 2016. In his two stints with the Rams, he had become a firm favourite with the fans, playing over one hundred times and scoring twenty-seven tries. During this season he captained the side for the first time in our victory against Sheffield Eagles.

Head Coach Liam Finn said, “Congratulations to Dom on his career, it’s a disappointing way for him to finish having a concussion but he can certainly look back with pride at his time in the game.”

On behalf of everybody at Dewsbury Rams we would like to wish Dom all the best for the future.
