Head Coach Lee Greenwood has given his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s Betfred Championship clash against Halifax Panthers.
Reflecting on our defeat last time out against Barrow Raiders, Greenwood said “I think that was a missed opportunity, if we’d had taken some of our chances at the crucial point in the game then we’d have won, instead they took their one chance late and won by a couple of points.”
“We obviously lost our half-back before the game and full back after twenty minutes, so we ended up missing two vital components, which obviously had an impact on the day because they’ve both been looking good in training and in games this season.”
Looking at the squad chosen for tomorrow’s game “We’ve had to make a couple of changes again and there’s still a couple of players that we’re waiting on fitness-wise to see if they’ll be playing. Samy Kibula has gone back to Bradford after his two-week loan finished and Aidan McGowan has suffered a serious injury which looks like it’ll keep him out for around two to three months.”
On our opponents Halifax, Greenwood added “They’re starting to get to where I thought they would be at the start of the season, in my opinion this will be one of our hardest games this season. They obviously struggled in their first few but recently they’ve won their last few games comfortably.”
“We know it’ll be tough, but the effort is there from the lads and we’ll go out and give it our best, we’re going into this game to win and those how we’ll always setup.”
