Head Coach Lee Greenwood has given his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s Betfred Championship clash against Barrow Raiders.
Reflecting on our performance last Sunday against Featherstone, Greenwood said “We can take some positives from the game, we knew that a result would be unlikely, but I thought in general we played well especially the two lads on debut. We played well with ball in hand but there were aspects of our defending that we weren’t happy with, so we’ll have to tighten up on that. I’ve watched other sides against Featherstone and Lee who’ve given up when they’ve been behind, but we can’t be accused of that.”
On the twenty-one-man squad selected “It’s certainly a boost to have Matty Beharrell and Ben Blackmore back in the squad, but we’ll have to wait until Sunday to decide on whether they’re ready or not. I thought Ross Peltier played well last week considering he’s coming back from a long spell out and Calum Turner’s not too far away as well. Dale Ferguson and Chris Annakin are both going to see a specialist next week, so we’ll know more on them both soon.”
On our opposition Greenwood said “Barrow started the season like a house on fire and have still been picking up results when they’ve had suspensions and injuries. They play full of confidence and they picked up a good win in the Cumbrian derby last week. They’ll definitely be coming down here expecting a victory and it’s up to us to play with the same intensity and attitude that we did last week to stop that.”
