GAMEDAY GUIDE – LEIGH CENTURIONS (A)

It’s gameday and here is all the practical information you need to know ahead of tonight’s clash against Leigh Centurions.

Venue

Leigh Sports Stadium, Sale Way, Leigh WN7 4JY

Travel

There is a limited amount of on-site parking available at Leigh Sports Village, all free of charge. Access to these car parks is via Sale Way, situated directly off A579 Atherleigh Way, with stewards on hand to direct cars where necessary. Please note that Morrison’s supermarket car park is not a stadium car park and may operate car parking charges of their own.

All approaches to the stadium and town centre, in particular A579 Atherleigh Way and A580 East Lancashire Road, are expected to be busy and supporters are advised to allow extra time for their journey.

For those travelling by public transport, Leigh bus station is situated in the town centre and is served with regular connections from Manchester, Bolton, Wigan, Warrington and St. Helens. Leigh bus station is a 10 minute walk from the stadium.

The nearest train stations are Atherton (4.2miles), Newton-le-Willows (5.3miles) and Wigan North Western on the West Coast mainline (7.9miles).

Ticket Information

Online – 24 hours a day with the facility to have your ticket e-mailed to you to be printed at home or scanned at the turnstiles on a compatible mobile device. This facility will be available right up until kick off and is the quickest and easiest way to purchase your ticket! Click here.

In person – Leigh Sports Village Ticket Office; open from 9am until 5pm weekdays, 9am until 12pm on Saturday’s and 9am until 30 minutes after kick off on match day.

Telephone – Call 01942 487888; open from 9am until 5pm weekdays, 9am until 12pm on Saturday’s and 9am until 2 hours before kick-off on match day.

In order to secure the ticket area of your choice and to avoid congestion at the Ticket Office on match day, supporters are strongly advised to purchase their tickets in advance of match day.

For this fixture, we have been allocated Blocks A-B of the Kingstone Press West Stand (unreserved seating along the touchline).

Collecting Pre-Purchased Tickets

Any supporters who have pre-purchased their match tickets and have been advised to collect them will be able to do so from any window at the LSV Ticket Office from 9am on the day of the game. Corporate ticket collections will take place from Main Reception (situated at the front of the Kingstone Press West Stand).

Attending with Children in Prams & Buggies

Spectators who wish to attend with young children who are in prams or buggies are more than welcome to do so, with children aged 4 years or below required to claim a free match ticket from the ticket office in advance of match day when purchasing your match tickets. If you wish your child to remain in their pram/buggy for the duration of the game, it is advisable to contact the ticket office in advance to arrange your tickets. Alternatively, if your child doesn’t need to remain in their pram/buggy during the game, you may organise to leave their pram/buggy by contacting a steward upon entrance to the stadium. Leigh Sports Village cannot take any responsibility for the storing of your pram/buggy.

Provision for Supporters with Autism

Leigh Sports Village are delighted to be working with Leigh Community Trust to make Leigh Centurions games open to all fans including people with autism, their family and friends. Late Gates

As always, traffic congestion is expected around the stadium and supporters are advised to allow extra time in their journey. However, should you miss the kick off then there are ‘late gates’ situated in each stand which will be open until the end of the first half. These turnstiles are turnstile 20 (westerly end of the North Stand), turnstile 2 (West Stand South) and 24 (West Stand North).

Catering

The Legends Bar (situated at the front of the Kingstone Press West Stand) will be open from 2 hours before kick and also immediately after the full-time hooter, serving a range of soft drinks, alcoholic beverages and hot food.

A variety of pies, including chicken & mushroom, steak and meat & potato varieties, sausage rolls and cheese & onion pasties, are available to purchase as supplied by new partners Peter’s, while Mom’s hot dogs are also available. Gluten free hot dogs, vegan hot dogs and vegan pies also available.

Hot drinks, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages will all be available to purchase, along with an increased selection of chocolate and sweets.

All kiosks are now enabled to take card payments, with contactless payments being the preferred method of payment. Please note that, for this fixture, Leigh Sports Village will be trialling separate queues at the kiosks for cash and card payments respectively.

Please note that no outside food or drink is allowed to be brought into the stadium.

Smoking

Leigh Sports Village would like to kindly remind all supporters that, in line with government legislation, smoking is not permitted anywhere within Leigh Sports Village Stadium. This also includes the use of e-cigarettes.

Leigh Sports Village would also like to remind supporters that unfortunately there is no re-admittance to Leigh Sports Village Stadium, should any supporter wish to exit the stadium in order to smoke.

Leigh Sports Village appreciates the cooperation of all supporters regarding this matter.

Security Procedures

Please be aware that overt searches, such as bags and personal searches will take place to detect any prevent any prohibited articles from entering the stadium and to provide a visual deterrent.

This searching is conducted under the authority of the Leigh Sports Village Ground Regulations and will apply to staff, partners, visitors and spectators. Any refusal will cause the person not to be admitted into the stadium.

The following articles must not be brought within the ground: golfing umbrellas, knives, fireworks, smoke canisters, air-horns, flares, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items, laser devices, bottles, glass vessels, cans, poles and any article that might be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety. Any person in possession of such items will be refused entry to the ground.
