Dewsbury Rams were defeated 30-10 by Wakefield Trinity on Sunday afternoon.
The Betfred Super League side in the end showed too much quality despite the Rams putting in a solid performance.
The home side started to put the pressure on straight away, and whilst some great early defensive sets were won. Wakefield finally found a gap after 10 minutes when Reece Lyne scored. Gustav Lino was the kicker on the day for Trinity and managed to convert his first kick making the score 6-0 to Wakefield.
The home side scored again nine minutes later. Chris Annakin and Liam Finn just couldn’t stop the run of Pio Tupou who crossed the whitewash. Again Lino added the two points to make it 12-0.
On the 24th minute Innes Senior crossed the line for the Super League team. Lino made sure once more the kick went through the posts to put the score at 18-0.
The Rams started to fight back and looked to put some attacking plays together. One such play came off when Liam Finn crossed the white line. Paul Sykes converted the kick to add the extras, that made the score 18-6.
Wakefield snatched a try before half time with Jacob Miller scoring for Trinity. Lino kicked two points to put things at 24-6 to Wakefield.
The home side scored soon after the half time break to grab another try. This time Kelepi Tanginoa scoring, Lino again converted to make it 30-6 to Wakefield.
The final try of the afternoon was scored by winger Lewis Carr. Sykes passed a clever ball out to Carr who dived over the line. Sykes missed the kick to end the match at 30-10 to Wakefield.
