Dewsbury Rams a few weeks ago signed hooker Jamie Greenwood for the 2021 season.
Greenwood who has previously played for Oldham in League 1 is looking forward to working under older brother and head coach Lee Greenwood.
On why he wanted to sign for the Rams, Greenwood said: “I just wanted to give it a go playing semi professionally again. Lee rang me asking if I wanted to come on a trial and I thought why not and I’ve just given it my best shot since we started pre- season.
“I actually really enjoy playing under Lee, he’s just honest with me and tells me where I need to improve all the time.”
On his career so far, Greenwood explained about his rugby journey: “I started off as a Siddal junior at 6 year old before signing at Huddersfield academy. I signed for them at 16 years of age and stayed there for 3 years.
“I then signed on at Oldham which was great experience for me winning league 1 with them.”
Finally Greenwood is looking forward to playing at the Tetley’s Stadium in front of the Rams faithful. He is aiming to get a regular spot in the 17 every week.
He said: “I just want to be pushing every week to get into the team and play as many games as possible.
“I’m buzzing to play at the Tetley’s stadium, it’s a great set up. Hopefully we will be able to play in front of the fans soon too which will make it even better.
“It’s going to be a tough league, it’s great to test yourself and be the best you can be.
“I’m looking forward to playing against some of the players that moved to the championship this year which will be good for me.”
