The club recently announced that winger Davey Dixon is to stay at Dewsbury for the 2021 campaign.
The 23 year old is looking forward to getting back to training and playing when everything is safe to do so.
“I’m over the moon to be staying at Dewsbury.
“As long as Dewsbury wanted me I wasn’t going anywhere. I love it here at the club, I’m settled here and if I’m here for the rest of my career I’d be happy.
“Lee was a big factor in me staying as I think he gets the best out of you as a player and everyone respects him and all the players want to work for each other.
“Dewsbury is a family club and everyone sticks together and it rubs off onto the boys and it showed in the games.”
Dixon’s aim’s are similar to the 2020 season where he just wants to play games for the club he’s loving being at.
“My goals haven’t really changed from last year, I just have to keep working hard and develop my game and cement my spot for the season and I’m confident I can do that.
“Honestly I can’t wait for the 2021 season, I thought I was just getting into my stride then it all ended, so I’m raring to go in 2021.”
The Rams won four out of their first six games before the season was curtailed. That good form was partly due to the group getting on so well.
Dixon commented: “The lads and coaching staff are great, you get excited to go to training.
“How we train reflex’s our performances. All the lads have great attitudes and want to work hard for each other and that’s hard to beat.”
Finally the Scotland international had a message for the fans.
“I’d just like to say a big thank you to all the fans for getting behind the boys in 2020, home and away, they are fantastic.
“Thanks for being patient with no games being on but get ready for a big 2021 season. All the boys look forward to seeing you back down at the Tetley’s stadium.”
