Last night Dewsbury Rams were excited to reveal the re-signing of Rhys Davies for the 2021 season.
Davies who joined the club at the beginning of 2020 after completing a successful trial period.
On re-signing for 2021 Davies said: “I have really enjoyed the time I have had at the club so far, which was one of the reasons I wanted to re-sign.
“Also I have still got a lot to prove and work on but hopefully I can step up and take my opportunities this year.”
On his ambitions for the upcoming season Davies commented: “As an individual I just want to take it week by week and keep working hard and hopefully I can cement a place in the starting squad.”
Last year the club won four out of its first six games and Davies wants the club to try and improve on that for the 2021 campaign.
“it was a shame really the team was playing well at the time, before the season ended.
“Hopefully we can build on that and bring those performances into the next season which is something I am sure the club will want to do.”
Part of the reason why the team started so well was due to the close knit bond the players had and Davies commented on that positive atmosphere.
He said: “The atmosphere had a real buzz to it before lockdown and I feel that this transferred to the short amount of games we played. I can’t wait to be back.”
Finally the Welshman had a message for the Rams faithful.
“I’d say to the fans just to keep supporting, we’ve got great fans and it’s been such a difficult time for everyone.
“Individually we are all working hard to build on the start of the 2021 season.”
